We are dedicating the whole month of August 2022 to showcase and celebrate the achievements of young people in driving good governance and development in Africa. Through our website and social media pages, we will publish blogs and profile young people on the leading edge of social change. Whether they’re working in public or private sectors, nonprofits, or own social enterprises, we will demonstrate how their priorities, values and strengths are applied to positively impact on lives and behaviors of others in their communities.

International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August.

The objective of this year’s International Youth Day theme, Inter-generational solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages, is to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the SDGs and leave no one behind. The 2022 International Youth Day will also raise awareness on certain barriers to inter-generational solidarity, notably ageism, which impacts young and old persons, while having detrimental effects on society as a whole.
